Turf Maintenance & Repair by Marsh & Mane in Charleston, SC

No. 09 · Charleston, SC

Turf cleaning for Charleston yards.

“Keep it looking like day one.”

The craft

Live oaks, pine straw, spring pollen and humid summers mean Lowcountry turf needs a real cleaning now and then — especially where dogs play. We bring it back to looking (and smelling) like day one.

Turf is low-maintenance, not no-maintenance. Leaves, pine straw, pollen, heat and pets all take a toll in the Lowcountry. Our care visits deep-clean and sanitize, power-brush matted fibers back upright, top off infill, treat pet odors and fix the small things — loose seams, lifted edges, burns and worn spots — before they turn into big ones.

  1. 01Deep clean & sanitizeA thorough rinse and sanitizing treatment, focused where pets and kids play.
  2. 02Pet-odor treatmentEnzyme cleaners break down odor at the source instead of masking it.
  3. 03Power brushingMatted, flattened fibers are brushed back upright so the lawn looks full again.

Good questions.

  • Most family lawns do well with a professional cleaning a few times a year. Dog yards and potty areas in humid Lowcountry summers benefit from more frequent visits.

  • In most cases, yes. A deep flush plus an enzyme treatment breaks down the source of the odor. If the base underneath drains poorly, we will tell you and explain how to fix it.

  • Yes. We offer a one-time refresh, a seasonal care plan for family lawns, a pet care plan for dog yards, and repairs. Visits include cleaning, sanitizing, pet-odor treatment, power brushing, infill top-offs and seam and edge checks.

  • Often, yes. We inspect the turf and the base first, then tell you plainly what we can clean or fix and what it would take.

  • Very little. Blow off leaves, rinse it down now and then, and give it a light brushing a few times a year to keep the fibers standing tall. No mowing, watering, fertilizing or weeding.

  • It is one of the best things you can do for a dog yard. We use pet-specific backings, antimicrobial infill and a base designed to flush clean with a hose. No mud, no dead spots and no digging under properly secured edges.

  • Pick up solids like you would on grass, then hose the area down. For heavy pet use, an enzyme turf cleaner once or twice a month keeps everything smelling fresh.
